The Sky is Not the Limit Because There are No Limits!
There! Yes, I said it and I really meant that with every fiber of my very being and all of the positive energy that is contained within me and surrounds me daily. There is a serious fallacy in the old cliche, “The sky is the limit.” This is because: There. Are. NO. Limits! The true key to living an abundant life is ridding ourselves of this notion and holding on to the knowledge that the only limits we have are all in our mind. Once we rid ourselves of limiting beliefs, our life changes because our entire perspective changes. This is critical to our growth, maturity and development as we beautifully expand into abundance.
Just like my Daddy used to tell me all the time, “You can achieve anything as long as you put your mind to it!” Also, Luke 1:37 says “Nothing is impossible for God.” Therefore, since He dwells within you–nothing is impossible for YOU!
So what are you waiting for? Change your mind and change your life today!

Chronicles of a Tween Mom! Mini-Book Trailer Release
Whew! From Animoto to YouTube, this mini-trailer project produced by Toy Parker has been quite a journey! First, there was the general anxiety of trying to create a video by myself for the first time in more than a decade. I usually have one of my business partners or friends in the business do editing for me. I’m such the perfectionist. I believe I am truly the slowest editor on the planet. Next, there was the task of trying to figure out what song would work best with the title and the pictures I selected. For a perfectionist, surely you must know that it was the grace of God that I had actually narrowed it down to two songs!
Finally, after choosing one song, I saved it in Animoto, but wasn’t satisfied because I couldn’t put the embedded link on my website. Or I could, but it only showed the link. I really wanted to see the video on my website. Next step: I had to figure out how to upload the video to my YouTube page so I could use the YouTube embedded link that I hoped to use in the first place. Alas! Where there is a will, there’s a way. Word to the wise, make sure you have made all of your changes before pressing the “Produce” button–even if it’s just the title of the video. (I learned that the hard way. Yes, I watched the tutorial, but that wasn’t covered probably because no one usually pays attention to the details to the point they’d care to edit little things like titles?)
Alas, after feeling my way through that entire adventure–or series of misadventures–depending on which way you want to look at it — I was beyond elated to upload my video to my website with the YouTube embedded link. Victory is mine and I pray you enjoy my heartfelt masterpiece! This is just another Chronicles of a Tween Mom moment. As you can imagine, Nia has asked several times by now, “Is the mini-book trailer finished yet? You said you were going to do it all yourself.” Finally, I can now say, “Yes!” Pure Comedy! #Daily
Enjoy!
A Song of My Own (Poetic Reprise)
Note: I was inspired to write this poem after finally watching the movie Jason’s Lyric years ago. I will perform this poem regionally again this year…Enjoy.
A Song of My Own
One day,
I want to
Be with him
To see the sun
As it next leaves
Footprints across the sky…
One day,
I want to enjoy the bliss of his surprises
In between the time the sun sets
and rises…
One day,
I want to feel the warmth of a candlelight dinner
As we slow dance
Face-to-face
By the coziest of fires…
Yes, today,
These are the
things
My heart
tells my mind it secretly desires…
One day,
I want to
Run
By the water
And let
the right man
Finally catch me…
One day,
I want the
Swans we meet
To show us how
Sweet
True love’s
first kiss
Can truly be…
I want
A song
of my own
I can call Destiny…
Lyrics that
Will take me
Beyond the melody~
Beyond Jason’s Lyric
No more tragedy
Lessons outside
Boundaries…
With infinite
Possibilities
Yes, the one Song that never ends…
Always a present
Never a memory…
Where eternity
Begins…
One day,
I want a man
To grab my feet
And pamper me
I want my own
Movie through
poetry
To become my
Symphonic reality…
I want a man
To find me
And call me
His own…
So my song
Can finally begin..
A Song of My Own
Written
just for me to continue to
Hear..to sing…
To share–everywhere…
I want
The miracle
Beyond
The crescendo
I want
All the
True love
I have given
To somehow
find its way
Back to me…
Until then
I continue
To play the notes..
On Keys of hope
Until my own song
Conquers all fears
And fights
To find its way
Back to me…
A Song of My Own
The revelation,
And the irony:
My heart wants
To hear a song
That already
Plays inside of me…
And when the right one hears it
He will instantly
recognize
The synergy-
And flow with me
And finally,
without
Hesitation-
This soulful one
Will always
Hold the
Right note
To forever
Sing
my own
love song
Back to me…

Top Seven Ways to Live LOVE Daily!
LOVE. This is such a well-discussed topic. How does one approach it differently than the world? The only way to do so is to see life a different way than the world. With loving comes risks when we expect there to be an exchange or reciprocity of emotions, or actions. So then the question becomes, who’s loving you and how well are you loving others? Perhaps, therein lies the problem. Your focus is on just that. How is that working for you? It has its ups and downs. Would you like to experience a consistent flow of love that doesn’t change with situations and time? There is a way to achieve this. Let’s dare to do something revolutionary. Let’s have a vision of love and maintain that focus daily. At the end of each day there is only love and it all comes back to love. Have you ever tried to just be an expression of love itself? Now is the time for each of us to Live Our Vision Everyday. If you choose to take this road, it will be a journey of a lifetime that keeps you in a perpetual state of peace and happiness protected from the cares of the world. There is safety here. There is serenity here. God dwells here. It is the center of His perfect will for us. Here are my top seven proven ways to rest in God and live LOVE daily:
1. Trust God daily. As simple as this sounds, so many of us struggle with this everyday. If everything were great all the time and you had everything in front of you that you ever wanted to have, would there be a need for faith or to even believe for anything? Each and every test, and each and every trial we go through blazes a concentrated trail back to love, which is God, according to I John 4:8 and faith worketh by love. This is truly why God works all things together for the good of those who love Him. Therefore, we must learn to relax in Him and live a focused life of love in faith while doing the very things we enjoy the most. We must trust that God’s will for us is greater than anything we could truly ever ask or think for ourselves.
2. Forgive yourself and others daily. In order to truly live, one must learn how to perpetually forgive. This does not mean for anyone to let someone take advantage of them or run all over them. This means for everyone to be true to themselves enough to understand that until you have forgiven others your growth and love is blocked. Never give anyone that much power over your life. Free your mind so you life will follow. Let go of any resentment, bitterness, hatred, and any negative energy associated with anyone who has hurt, disappointed, misused, abused, or refused you. Let God restore you to wholeness. Go inward, clean house, and let the sunshine in! Love is waiting for you on the other side!
3. Walk your truth in love daily. As the old saying goes, “It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.” The same applies for your walk in truth. It isn’t what walk you have, but the way in which you walk it. Simply stated, learn how to speak your truth without being afraid of the outcome while still respecting others. If your “truth” brings negative energy, was that really a productive way to express it? What did you really accomplish? That you can speak your mind whenever you want and you don’t care what others think? Anybody can do that. Children who don’t know any better do that all the time. Try walking in your truth in such a positive way that it brings awareness and shows people how to better treat you. Isn’t that what you ultimately want anyway? At the end of each day, LOVE always wins and truly covers a multitude of sins.
4. Expect the great so it can come to you daily. Quite often, many events in our lives become playbacks of self-fulling prophecy. Yes, our perception is our reality. Knowing this: Since our thought life is our life that we live daily, why not turn the tables of your life and just. stay. positive. daily. Expect great things every day and attract more of what you want. Stop focusing on what you don’t want to experience, and focus on what you want for yourself and your family. Live Habakkuk 2:2. Write the vision down. Speak the vision to those you trust. Live the vision until the vision is your reality. Live LOVE daily.
5. Express gratitude daily. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. When was the last time you took time out to just say thank you for the little things? When was the last time you did an inventory of the things you are thankful for? It’s hard to focus on the problem when you are already thanking God in advance for the solution. After all, every single problem has a solution. This is why nothing is impossible for God. The answers are all inside you where He dwells. When you view life in the eyes of gratitude, peace comes so you can actually think about the solution that has already been there waiting to be accessed. Shift your focus. Be thankful. Practice it until it becomes a permanent part of your psyche. When you are thankful, love surrounds, protects and abounds.
6. Freely express (positive) energy and love daily.Do bad things happen to good people? Sure they do. You cannot control what people do but you can control your reaction to anyone in any situation. Philippians 4:8 states: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. When this verse permeates within your spirit, this is all that can come out of you in any situation. It doesn’t make you weak. In fact, it makes you so much stronger than most because it takes more self-control and strength to freely express positive energy and love daily than to be trapped in a bottle of a myriad of emotions brought on by projections of others’ opinions, comments, and reactions to things that in all cases have nothing to do with you and have everything to do with them and how they perceive the world they live in. Choose to rise and live above the madness in a perpetual place of love. Go inward and soar!
7. Invest in yourself first, then others daily. One of the hardest things for many of us is to decide the best way we can balance loving everyone–including ourselves at the same time. As for me: Been there. Tried that. Epic fail. Multiple times in multiple ways. Somehow, in someway, someone always gets the shorter end of the deal and that usually ended up being–you guessed it– me. I now get it. No, I really get it. Seriously. I was so very hardheaded for about a decade, but now, I am back on track. It’s funny how when I was in my 20s I never had this problem, but that’s okay–I’m getting my groove back. Give to yourself so you can have enough to give to others too. Manage your giving. Set boundaries. Manage your time so you can manage your life. What do you want out of life? What makes you happy? When you are fulfilled, it is so much easier to love yourself and others. It is just so much easier to live when you have love within.
It all comes back to love. Love yourself so you can love others. You deserve it. Your family deserves to have the real you around. Your co-workers will probably work better with you when “you” show up. Your life will look and feel so different, refreshed and renewed all because of the love that has grown and now exudes within you. That’s what living LOVE daily is all about: loving from the inside out.

Forgiveness Heals and Helps You Live
He was so hard on me. I didn’t get to have sleepovers. I didn’t get to go off to friends’ houses. I couldn’t even ride the school bus to school like the other children. He hired someone to drive me to school when he or Mom couldn’t take me. I truly lived a very protected and sheltered life. I spent my summers studying for the next school year and he had me speaking in front of the church before I was sixteen years old. During my senior year of high school, he arranged for me to be the keynote luncheon speaker at Halifax Community College. He prepped me and he pushed me.
Daddy even yelled at me most of the time when he pushed me most. I honestly thought he was so mean. I cried many times trying to win his approval. He made me write ALL the time and corrected my papers–with his red pen. The papers were bleeding for years until finally that great day came when he said, “Excellent job!”. Out of the pain of his pushing came a great miracle. He was my “agent” and I didn’t even know it. He was always preparing me for something and sending me to academic summer programs at different colleges before I even went to college. I didn’t understand it then, but I do now. I am so thankful that he cared enough to push me. Needless to say, I graduated Valedictorian of my high school class, had a career in Journalism before I graduated from college, and have been soaring ever since.
Today, I am thanking God for the fact that my father, James A. Parker, is alive and celebrated his 78th birthday this year. (I thought he was 80 but who’s counting–he’s still over three-fourths of a century strong) He is such a kinder, gentler yet still a very strong and wise man even in these golden years in spite of it all. God has kept him. He is a proud man who provided an upper middle class life for his family and was not perfect but because God works everything together to my good, he is and will always be the perfect Dad for me. Every single time he says he loves me still today, the child inside of me still rejoices and feels complete knowing she is loved. Once a Daddy’s girl, always a Daddy’s girl.
Thank you, Daddy, for the days you yelled and thanks for the days you didn’t. He showed me love the best way he knew how. To this day, he still does–and by the way, he doesn’t yell anymore. Appreciation for life as one ages has a way of bringing a sense of peace and humility. Watching him age over the course of my life has not been easy but I have learned to forgive and remember what matters most about him. That has helped to make all the difference for me as I continue my own life’s journey. I choose to heal so I can live.
I’m still maintaining your legacy of excellence, Daddy…and I promise in the love department, I’ll get it right this second time around (knowing I am loved) in time for you to walk me down the aisle because you still have miles to go before you sleep in Jesus’ name. #Thankful
So if you or a loved one are having trouble making amends with either their parents or someone close to them, encourage them to forgive and remember the important things. Don’t concentrate on forgetting. Concentrate on remembering the positive. That’s where the true healing begins. Choose to heal today so you can truly live. #LiveLOVEdaily
True Love Will Wait and True Love Will Find You
We must remember that whomever we are destined to be with was well established before the foundations of this world. Whomever God has for you is truly for you. What God brings together, no man can tear asunder. Let patience have her most perfect work first in you. Seek Him first and His true love will always find you.
